Scalp Micro Pigmentation

SMP or Scalp Micropigmentation is an advanced method of cosmetic pigmentation and is unique in many ways. SMP involves techniques of injecting pigment into the scalp using highly specialist equipment, which is similar to traditional tattooing. It is a guaranteed result but a very intricate procedure.

The treatment quality comes down to a few factors:

  • Using the most up-to-date equipment
  • Using a skilled / experienced practitioner

At The Salon in Burton on Trent, we use the most cutting edge technology on a special computer controlled system to ensure all our clients receive a consistent appearance over your scalp, providing flawless results. Each treatment is made bespoke for each customer to your exact skin type and colour.

Most treatments for hair loss, like hair transplants, are expensive and sometimes you pay more for the value you receive. This can add to your frustration along with some nasty scars.

Another option are hair replacement systems but most men are not comfortable with this.

We can use this type of treatment for:

  • Male Pattern Baldness
  • Women’s hair loss
  • Alopecia
  • Add Density
  • Cover Up Scars from failed transplants

The Process

With SMP everyone’s needs are different so on your first visit we will assess you and listen carefully to make sure we understand your needs. Your hair colour is then matched to a pigment. Also during this first session a plan will be drawn out to explain where you will receive treatment and how to cater for your hair loss needs.

On your next visit to The Salon you will receive your SMP treatment. The first will be a lighter shade that will match your hair colour. We gradually add more detail, adding follicles, to make it look natural. During the first day there will be some redness and tenderness.

On the third visit and second application of SMP we will add a darker shade the achieve a 3D look of the hair follicles along with more detail added. Here you will start the see your desired look.

Scar Camouflage

SMP can be used to hide scars, whether it be from injuries, operations or hair transplants. The most common is hair transplant scars.

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) are the 2 types of hair transplants. The image to the left is an example of FUT. 12cm x 2cm scar. SMP improved the way the scar looked to conceal it.

SMP Shaven Look

The most popular treatment is the shaven look by far. This procedure gives the scalp a natural shaven look.

This procedure is ideal for receding hair, balding, Alopecia or thinning hair. Here at The Salon we will work closely with you to achieve your goal and vision for a full head of hair.

Results are instant, non-invasive and require no maintenance

Density Treatment

SMP can be used to treat small bald patches and thinning hair. Density treatment is increasingly popular with women. Due to the aggressiveness of hair loss most clinics don’t like to work with female pattern baldness.

The image to the left shows someone with thinning hair and below that shows the results after density treatment.
